Saudi Arabia has one of the Arabian Peninsula's largest organized honey sectors. In May 2025, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture reported 25,644 licensed beekeepers, about one million hives and 5,832 tonnes of honey. Al-Baha is a nationally important honey landscape, with its Tihama area reported to produce about 20% of the Kingdom's honey, while Najran is especially associated with Sidr. Saudi apiculture also retains the heat-adapted native Arabian honey bee Apis mellifera jemenitica alongside imported and hybrid commercial stocks.
