Apianthos Honey is the public honey brand of BIO-SOLEA, a Cyprus-based beekeeping and honey-processing project. It produces raw, unfiltered honey from nomadic and resident colonies in the Troodos Mountain Range. Its Transparency Hub provides batch-level details on harvest, bottling, provenance, altitude, pollen analysis, and laboratory reports.
About the Producer
A little history
Its colonies have thrived for more than 30 years. Apianthos’s Organic Botanical Bee Park, in and above Galata in the Troodos Range, was publicly documented in 2021. In 2022, BIO-SOLEA was an integrated project that included organic honey production in the Solea Valley. The current site includes a funded Apianthos Beekeeping Centre project for honey production, processing, promotion, and beekeeping education.
How They Work
Beekeeping in practice
Apianthos runs a vertically integrated, batch-traceable beekeeping and honey operation. Nomadic hives move with the blooms, while resident colonies live at an Organic Botanical Bee Park. The project makes hives, uses wax, breeds queens, prepares organic pest controls, bottles honey, and publishes batch information in-house. BIO-SOLEA also operates an organic beekeeping, honey-processing, and standardization unit.
