Samoa
Samoa's beekeeping sector is small, introduced and actively rebuilding its knowledge base. Ministry reporting in 2021 counted about 41 active beekeepers and said local production could not meet domestic demand. The Samoa Apiculture Organisation emerged from that rebuilding effort, while current 2026 UNDP-supported training is bringing new beekeepers—many of them women—into the sector. Historical sources describe multiple imported European honey-bee stocks over time, so HC treats today's Apis mellifera as a mixed managed population rather than assigning a pure subspecies.
