Fiji

Taking shape FJ / FJI Oceania

Fiji has one of the Pacific's clearest modern beekeeping industries. Current 2026 ACIAR reporting places the sector at about 1,200 beekeepers, more than 13,000 hives and roughly 250–300 tonnes of honey annually. The industry is primarily an introduced Apis mellifera system, with older English-black-bee ancestry supplemented by Italian breeder queens imported from Australia beginning in 2022. Northern Fiji is an important production concentration, but administrative production volume alone is not enough to turn the entire division into a Honey Region.
