Taiwan's commercial honey culture is built around migratory beekeeping that follows a remarkably compact seasonal map. Longan and lychee honey dominate domestic production, with beekeepers moving colonies from southern lychee bloom into longan areas and then toward later-season forage. The Ministry of Agriculture maintains detailed annual statistics separating local and introduced Bee stocks and tracks longan/lychee and multifloral honey production. Taiwan also retains managed Apis cerana populations, especially around Keelung and northern mountain districts, alongside the commercial Apis mellifera system.
