Malaysia is one of the world's most developed stingless-bee honey markets. Kelulut honey is produced by native Meliponini, with Heterotrigona itama among the most important commercial species and other species such as Geniotrigona thoracica also used. Malaysia has formal standards for kelulut honey, and a 2025 Food Regulations amendment created Regulation 130A, effective 1 March 2026, giving stingless-bee honey a specific legal food definition and compositional framework. Sarawak's Upper Rajang is an expanding production area, but this batch keeps it as production geography rather than prematurely declaring a terroir.
