Kyrgyzstan

Taking shape KG / KGZ Asia

Kyrgyzstan's honey identity is inseparable from altitude. The country's best-known product is pale white mountain honey from the Tien Shan, especially At-Bashy in Naryn Region, where high-elevation forage and a long local beekeeping tradition give the honey a strong geographic identity. Officially attributed 2025 figures reported more than 3,000 tonnes of honey production and more than 600 tonnes exported, while first-quarter 2026 exports reached 152.8 tonnes. The modern managed-bee population is not treated here as one pure national subspecies; Central Asian Apis mellifera population structure needs a dedicated genetics pass.
