Taking shape KZ / KAZ Asia

Kazakhstan's honey map is dominated by the contrast between the biodiversity-rich Altai east and the broad southern and steppe landscapes. Ministry-linked 2026 reporting places national output near 5,000 tonnes and 2025 exports at 1,477 tonnes. Altai honey has the strongest regional identity in this pass, with forest, meadow, buckwheat, sweet-clover and angelica varieties associated with East Kazakhstan. Bee genetics are unusually important: recent studies show extensive admixture among managed populations and evidence relevant to the Central Asian lineage Apis mellifera pomonella.
