Indonesia
Indonesia's honey landscape is fundamentally plural. Wild Apis dorsata forest-honey harvesting, managed Apis cerana and Apis mellifera, and an exceptionally diverse stingless-bee fauna all coexist across the archipelago. Madu Hutan Sumbawa is the clearest protected regional anchor in this pass: an officially registered Indonesian geographical indication built around wild forest honey and a producer network. Recent BRIN work documents at least 46 known stingless-bee species in Indonesia, making Bee identity especially important for future Collection records.
