China
China is too large and biologically varied to be represented by one national honey identity. National industry reporting has long placed China among the world's largest honey producers and exporters, with large migratory Apis mellifera operations operating alongside native Chinese honey bee, Apis cerana cerana, systems. For Atlas, the strongest entries are specific protected and bee-defined landscapes: Yangshuo Jiulongteng Honey in Guangxi, Tangbula Black Bee Honey in Xinjiang, and the Northeast Black Bee reserve around Raohe in Heilongjiang. These landscapes show three different routes to provenance: a named nectar source, a protected black-bee honey, and a conservation population embedded in a forest honey economy.
