Afghanistan's honey landscape spans wild mountain honey and expanding managed apiculture. In Nuristan, traditional honey is associated with wild Apis dorsata living in high forest landscapes of oak, pine, walnut and wild pomegranate. Farther west and south, managed beekeeping is growing around Apis mellifera, while research also places Apis cerana in Afghanistan's eastern bee fauna. Kandahar currently provides one of the clearest commercial honey stories: basil-flower honey, pomegranate-blossom honey and a small 2026 export flow. Current national scale figures remain unsettled, so Honey Chronicles should keep sector totals source-attributed rather than turning them into timeless facts.
