About the Producer
A little history
Philica Sands returned to Eleuthera in 2020 and completed a 12-week Beekeeping and Apiology course through the Centre for Training and Innovation (CTI) in 2021. The training marked the start of her bee business.
How They Work
Beekeeping in practice
An owner-operated bee-products enterprise, An-Nahl’s Golden Haven makes honey and wax-derived goods that Philica Sands sells through local farmers’ markets and in her community. The business also carries out bee extractions and relocations across Eleuthera. The Honey Shack at CTI is a free processing and extraction resource for program graduates and island beekeepers.

Native honey
Documented origin: Eleuthera, The Bahamas
Origin detail: Region
One Eleuthera Foundation states that An-Nahl’s Golden Haven produces “native honey.” A Bahamas Development Bank program report describes its honey as “pure, locally harvested.” In the Eleuthera-focused program context, this supports Eleuthera as the narrowest supported origin; no product-specific apiary, settlement, harvest season, or floral source was located.
